Due to ongoing drought conditions, the West Harris County Regional Water Authority (WHCRWA) initiated Stage 1 water conservation measures. Because Harris-Fort Bend Counties MUD 3 is located within the boundaries of the WHCRWA, we are required to initiate Stage 1 of our Drought Contingency Plan which includes voluntary water conservation measures. The WHCRWA and the District may require mandatory water use restrictions if conditions worsen. Effective immediately, the following voluntary water use restrictions are in place:. - Customers with even numbered addresses (addresses ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8) are requested to voluntarily limit the irrigation of landscaping and other areas to even numbered dates (dates ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8).
- Customers with odd numbered addresses (addresses end in 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9) are requested to voluntarily limit the irrigation of landscaping and other areas to odd numbered dates (dates ending in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9).
- Common areas such as esplanades or sports fields are requested to voluntarily limit the irrigation of landscaping to even numbered dates.
- Irrigation should be limited to the hours between 8:00pm on designated days, 6:00 am on the following days.
The Board of Directors of the district appreciates your cooperation and perseverance during these conservation effects. Once stage 1 ends, we will notify you, and you may then return to normal usage. If conditions should worsen, it may be necessary to proceed to Stage 2, at which time you will be notified of the more stringent and mandatory restrictions to ensure the availability of water in your community.
